I am positively negative

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

Three years I was diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma, a type of cancer that attacked the lymph system in my body. Through prayer, chemo, and the amazing love and support of my family I have been cured from the disease. I just completed my annual set of tests including a full body PET SCAN and CAT SCAN. All the tests came out negative and I have received a clean bill of health.

The process of going through cancer changed my life forever. It has opened my eyes to a deeper level of suffering and compassion. There is not a day that goes by that I forget about my experience of cancer. Since cancer my goal is to use this gift of life that I have been given and try and serve others. This year I was blessed with the opportunity to travel to Africa photograph the people. I was able to use my compassion to help others with my love of photography. The people in Africa are amazing and have such a deep sense of gratefulness for their lives in a country of such suffering in need. Below is a picture of me visiting a village in Rwanda. The children looking at the camera are looking a pictures of themselves and for the first time.

Kylie’s Senior Session

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

This last week I shot my first set of senior portraits. I found an awesome location at Wilder Ranch just outside of Santa Cruz. From there we went to the railroad tracks and then headed to the beach. I had so much fun and Kylie was incredible to shoot. She should be a model. Kylie and her mom drove 2 hours to come to Santa Cruz but they had a great time as well. They even invited me to Kylie’s graduation party. Congratulations Kylie!40.jpg

Cute Kids Alert!!!

Thursday, April 26th, 2007

This last week has been crazy busy. One of my best friends called me up and told me that she is going to get married last friday and she wants me to be the maid of honor and the photographer. The wedding which I will post more about soon was in Marysville which is north of Sacramento. While I was in Sacramento I stayed with one of my oldest and best friends Amber and her family. Amber and I have been friends since we were 10 and now she has three of the most adorable kids. Her oldest Malachai followed me around the house the entire time I was there and and would call out my name and then tell me he loves me and give me a hug. These kids are awesome. We of course had to do a photo shoot so check out some of the pictures.

Malachai is quite the model. He chose to pose in all these positions I didn’t tell him to. Me and Amber were laughing so hard just watching him. He is 4 and getting so big.
