Santa Cruz Beach Engagement | Matt and Inga

Beach days, summer lovin, a perfect recipe for a Santa Cruz engagement shoot. Both Matt and Inga met in Santa Cruz so it was only fitting that we head to the beach to photograph their engagement pictures. 4 mile beach is one of my favorite Santa Cruz locations. I love the tall cliffs and how when the sun sets the light beams over the tops, I love that just behind the cliffs is fields of wildflowers, I love that it is a bit hidden and usually empty aside from the few stray surfers. It is one of my favorite locations to photograph and I so glad I get to share it with my couples.

Nestldown Wedding Photographer | David and Ashley

When Ashley and David hired me for their Nestldown wedding, I was instantly excited about their vision for the day. Not only does Ashley have superb taste when it comes to designing an elegant wedding but I was super excited to see their “fur child” Bentley be the ring bearer. I dare you not to smile when see how adorable a 100 plus pound fury puppy is when he dressed in tux. Ashley’s wedding a mix of whimsical and fairytale. I loved the mix of loose flowers and long garlands over the farm table. However, beyond all wedding details, in the end it was Ahsley’s dress that stole the show and a perfect addition to the fairytale bliss. Ashley was radiant and wore her amazing dress with so my grace and style. It was a perfect addition to the magical day.

On another note, Ashley is a very talented hair stylist at Doll House Saloon. A few weeks before my daughter was born she dolled me up with a fresh new look, and made me feel all pretty again. She took amazing care of me and I can’t wait to let her style my hair again.

Alek + Kendall Santa Cruz Engagement

These two knew exactly where they wanted their engagement pictures taken. They quickly responded the famous tree, and once again the tree did not disappoint. The fields and golden sunshine is just a perfect mix with the California terrain. I am constantly surprised at how inspired I get by the simplicity of this beauty. During my time with Alek and Kendall I learned of how they met and their crazy stories of traveling. I look forward to seeing them again this fall when they seal their love together at Nestldown.

Si and Brienne Nestldown Wedding

When I first met Brienne and Si they were not only planning a wedding they were remodeling their new home. I am not talking about a room addition I am talking about a full remodel, no appliance, no toilets, no electricity, unlivable, down to the studs remodel. How she managed to accomplish an amazing house and a beautiful wedding still amazes me. The wedding was filled with love laughter and many personal touches. It was rustic, elegant and whimsical all the same time. I loved seeing how involved her family was but the part that stood out the most was Si’s love and affection for his new wife. And… I did get to see a few pieces of the house and it was Amazing.
