• Having a clear and well-communicated timeline for your wedding day is essential for capturing all the special moments and maximizing your wedding photos at Nestldown. The SEM team at Nestldown work hard with every client to create the best timeline for your day. Share this timeline with your photographer. It will help your photographer guide you throughout the day.
• Consider the natural light at Nestldown, and plan your photo session accordingly. Golden hour, which occurs just before sunset, is a perfect place to do pictures in the Nestldown Orchard. The sun sets earlier in the redwood chapel area so pictures in that area are better earlier in the day. This can all be incorporated into your timeline
• Make sure to communicate any important details, such as the first look, family photos, and formal portraits, to your photographer so they can be prepared and ready to capture these special moments. Knowing these details will help the photographer choose the best locations to capture these special moments.

Utilizing the Stunning Landscapes and Light at Nestldown

• Take advantage of the natural light and stunning landscapes at Nestldown. Make sure that your photographer knows the sun pattern for the time of year you are getting married. Nestldown is a large property and knowing how the sun will set will help your photographer move you around the property efficiently. I have photographed over 100 weddings at the property and I am very familiar with the grounds, and how the light filters through the trees.

It was a perfect day for Katie and Jon’s Sunriver wedding. When Katie and Jon originally contacted me they were planning on having an elopement ceremony with just a few friends. But as more and more people found out about the big day and wanted to see Bend Oregon they set a date and decided to have their wedding in Sunriver. They had a casual ceremony with their closest friends and family at Mary MaCullum Park. It was the perfect place to show off Bend Oregon and a special place for Jon as he and his family have a house and grew up going to Sunriver.

Katie and Jon being the adventurous couple that they are planned an entire weekend for their guests featuring hikes and a float down the river.

Towering trees at this Redwood Nestldown wedding surrounded Andy and Krista during their first look, but the true magic was in the joy when they first saw each other. Andy and Krista’s first look was one of my favorites to document. The surprise and the beauty that they have for each other speaks volumes. I loved Krista’s reaction to Andys dress and all the emotion they shared. It was true magic.

We had a blast exploring the trails and forrest at this Nesldown Redwood Wedding and I had so much fun photographing these two brides laughing in the sun soaked forrest.

Nestldown Wedding

I have been photographing weddings at Nesltdown for over 10 years and it is still my favorite location in Santa Cruz, California. Not only does it hold a special place in my heart as it is where I said my “i do” 9 years ago, I just love being under the canopy of redwoods. The outdoor wedding venue is constantly changing in every season and the venue itself always has new hidden locations and trails to be explored. The artist in me can barely hold myself back when I see the light shinning through the majestic redwood trees.

Indian Wedding Photography

The Baraat Indian Ceremony is one of my favorite ceremonies to photograph. It’s usually during the middle of the Barat when I am surrounded by beautiful colors, music, and dancing that I am filled with gratitude that I have such an amazing job. The Indian ceremony Barat of Nirmal and Allison took place in downtown San Jose, close to where I went to school at San Jose State. I remember walking the same streets that they danced on as a young photojournalism student dreaming of photographing such an event. I could not be more grateful to share such a wonderful day.

I have fallen in love with this Black Butte Ranch Wedding it is the perfect location for Bend Wedding Photography. Everything from the velvet dresses, to the burnt orange suits to the snow capped mountains, made this a picture perfect Winter Bend Wedding. I am also in love with Aspen trees which are plentiful at Black Butte Ranch. Before the ceremony we ventured into a grove of aspen trees. The white bark of the aspen trees against the white snow on the trail was absolutely breathtaking and provided the perfect photos for this Bend Wedding.

Black Butte Ranch

Black Butte Ranch is a very special wedding venue for the bride and groom. The brides parents met at Black Butte Ranch and later purchased a vacation house at the ranch so they could share their love of the location with their children. The wedding ceremony arch was handmade by the brides father and framed the sun setting over the cascade mountains.

This Nestldown Wedding was truly a dream. There is something so grand about choosing forever under the towering redwood trees.  The Santa Cruz mountains will forever hold a place in my heart as it was where I started my photography career. It is such a blessing to return to the magnificent trees for a day of wedding photography.

The trees mixed with the soft pink bouquets was a beautiful combination, but nothing compared to the love and support that was poured out on the bride and groom for their wedding.  Matt and Inga share a strong friendship and love for each other. They share a love for art and adventure and I am so glad that they chose me their wedding photography. Wedding Photography in Carmel Valley is one of my favorite destinations. Tehama Golf Club offers 360 views of Carmel Valley and the Monterey Bay but this wedding in particular had a few other surprises that left both me and the guests speechless.

Wedding Photography with a Rainbow and Sunset

This Carmel Valley wedding was such a treat to photograph. The weather came a bit as a surprise but often times can be unpredictable for spring weddings. The ceremony was moved inside to keep the guests warm, but during the cocktail hour the sky began to open. This Carmel Valley wedding won the award for the most amazing rainbow I have yet to see, and one of the most vibrant sunsets I have ever photographed.  Chris and Sarah were adventurous enough to explore the property amidst the rain drops and I am so happy they did. The clouds rolling against the hill tops, and the moody skies creating a very beautiful memory.

This Holman Ranch wedding was simply amazing. Carmel Valley is one of my favorite locations for wedding photography. The sweeping views of rolling hills and mature oak trees are a photographers dream and the golden light takes my breath every single time.

Wedding at Holman Ranch

Kyle and Alissa’s Garden Party wedding theme was a perfect choice for the hacienda estate at Holman Ranch. They had long farm style tables draped with olive leaf garlands and mixed with white and peach peonies. The wedding was classic but relaxed, it was elegant but simple, and most of all it was a beautiful day that the bride and groom got to share with their family and friends. Kyle and Alissa planned the entire wedding from Texas with the help of their family making it a destination wedding for them. I think the part that made is most beautiful was the love for eachother and from their guests that surrounded them throughout the day. Kyle and Alissa were high school sweethearts. Their families were good friends and often celebrated holidays and vacations together, and the officiant had the privilege of baptizing both of them when they were children, so in one sense they were already one family. I am glad they chose forever and sealed it with this beautiful celebration.
