Motherhood
Being a mother has always been a dream of mine, but with my previous encounter with cancer it was also an unknown. We researched adoption in other countries and were very open to the idea, but in the end we were able to have two of our own blessings. Landon our boy came first followed by his sister Jada two years later. I am blessed to have the experience of having children, however my heart was still heavy with wanting to help some of the children we had learned about in other countries. After a bit more research we decided to partner with Compassion International and begin a sponsorship. Daniela Maria Del Rosario Garcia Sop is a young girl from Guatemala is a new addition to our family. We write letters to each other and she draws us pictures, We get updates and in the future we hope to visit her and her family.
Daniela lives in a remote village in Guatemala south of Quetzaltenango. She lives with both her mother and father and has 3 brothers and sisters. She has drawn us pictures of her house which is made of mud and bricks and has shown us in her drawings that she is responsible for taking care of the animals and other chores. Our monthly sponsorship helps provide schooling where she can learn hygiene, have nutritious meal, learn new skills and get help with homework. The goal is stop the cycle of poverty that continues from one generation to the next. As we continue to pray and support her we express her needs to our children and we hope to teach them about loving and helping others.
